Stephen and Timothy Quay (better known as the Brothers Quay) are animators and film directors. Their iconic visual style – a nightmarish and grotesque form of stop-motion animation – draws inspiration from a variety of Polish and Czech writers, puppeteers and composers. Their short Street of Crocodiles (1986) was nominated for the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival and won a BAFTA award.
Stephen and Timothy Quay will take part in a panel after Lem inspired short films screening at Barbican.
