A group of students arrive at a remote hotel for their internship. At this provincial outpost – somewhere between The Shining and The Hourglass Sanatorium – they discover a surprisingly strict manager and some unexpected services on offer. As the students attempt to deal with their new reality, the impulse of bloody hysteria scratches away at their sanity. Jagoda Szelc’s second film is a deeply unsettling psychological horror, disorienting yet brutally satisfying. Monument won the Special Jury Prize at the Polish Film Festival.
